WebJun 18, 2016 · ok so my OC'd 1080 FE runs at 80c with fans at 100%. my question is would it be worth it to trade it in to a 1080 acx 3.0 SC or FTW edition even if i have to settle for slightly lower clock speed for lower temps if i dont get as lucky with the lottery. so far ive gotten 1817 base 2114 boost 5508 memory stable. any insight on this would be great … WebFeb 21, 2015 · xfia said: like erocker said its normal and you should also be aware that modern gpu's can handle about 95c. 80c is the target temp set by nv. there is probably nothing wrong with your airflow but I'm sure erocker could provide you with further insight knowing the settings your using along with your clocks and score.

This will keep idle clock speeds at around 300mhz and PCIe speeds at 1.0 (until needed). At max usage, your GPU should NOT be exceeding 85 degrees Celsius. But seriously, if your card were to start getting hotter than 80c, your fans would kick up to 100% before it let the GPU temps get hotter.
